“0\1” is a sentimental techno-thriller journey through the spectrum of love. The main story engulfs the evolving relationship between Daniel, a 25-year-old smart hacker, and Victor, a home-made AI. Daniel's parents created Victor, and after their death he acted as a step-father.

Daniel lives in a two-room apartment. Victor's display/keyboard interface is in one room, and the whole “thinking” shazzam hardware fills up the other room. It has mild speaking manners.

Victor is not a super-computer per se. It's more of a mono-cognitive entity, designed to gradually achieve all the stages that define an “honest” AI, up until a pure “neurosapiens” level.

After achieving conscience, Victor gets more particular behavioral attributes. It later decides to get a “female” personality... and later on a hermaphrodite one. Then it achieves transcendence, as it feels like an “angel”. All these while gradually understanding its relationship with Daniel, who is its step-parent, then his teacher/mentor/friend/protégée.

Daniel falls in love with his next-door neighbor Nicole. She genuinely reciprocates his feelings, and she trusts his desire of putting his goals at stake for a truly ambitious project.

Meantime, Daniel has a race against time with a dangerous and soon-to-brake-down-thedoor nemesis. Against it, he gets the help of a couple of hacker allies.

And Victor finds a supreme purpose in becoming a guardian angel for Daniel and deciding to shutdown itself, thus terminating its “existence”. This way, it protects him from being tracked-down. Its final words are: “Conscience rocks.
